Besselings’ Deli

A liqour store turned Deli after two generations

The third-generation Besseling brothers are transforming their grandfather's beloved liquor store into a contemporary deli and sought a new identity that pays homage to its roots while embracing its artisanal future. To capture this unique blend, we envisioned a brand with a handcrafted, authentic touch. We enlisted the talent of Guido de Boer to hand-paint the playful tagline "Nom Nom Nom," adding a personal and inviting feel to the brand.

In keeping with this artisanal approach, we refreshed the face of the old hand-painted mascot, giving it a modern twist while maintaining its nostalgic charm. These updated mascots are now featured as versatile stickers, adorning products and popping up all around the city, creating a sense of community and continuity. The new identity not only celebrates the store’s legacy but also ushers it into a new era with warmth, character, and a distinctively crafted aesthetic.
